Look at those chubby cheeks!

Danielle had an ultrasound this morning to check the baby's size. We were being told for the last few weeks that the baby was tracking a little big and this morning we received confirmation. Baby Raymond's weight is estimated at 5 lbs, 3oz and, his head size was about 10 cm. That's in the 83rd percentile for size. He's normal but on the large side of normal.

Here are a few photos from the ultrasound. Now tell us, who do you think he looks like? Vote in our poll (see left side of page).

Enjoy!

Our blog now has YouTube video.

Nursing in Style

Massachusetts had a tax-free weekend this past week so Danielle and I decided to pick up a nice little peice of furniture for the baby's room. It's a glider chair so she can nurse and glide the baby to sleep. Pretty cool looking and really comfortable. I hope Danielle and little Raymond get lots of use out of it.

How the baby is growing at 32 weeks...

How the baby is growing at 32 weeks:

This week our baby is supposed to weigh a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark (although the doctors seem to think he might be a bit bigger than that). We have an ultrasound scheduled for next week in order to determine his size and weight. The doctors may change the due date based on that info. We’ll post the ultrasound images once we have them.

The baby is also rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
